What is Phantom?

Phantom is the #1 wallet for Solana, a popular blockchain that offers fast and cheap transactions (<$0.00025). Phantom is available on both web and mobile and provides:

1. Intuitive UX that’s clean and fun to use compared to wallets like Metamask.
2. Security features such as biometrics, 1Password, and Ledger support.
3. Robust use cases such as staking SOL, swapping tokens, and showcasing your NFTs.‍

You can send and receive tokens through Phantom just like any other crypto wallet. In addition, Phantom supports the following:

1. View and trade NFTs. You can tap on an NFT to see its description and properties. Tap “Send” if you want to give the NFT to another wallet. 
2. Swap tokens. You can swap any two tokens that Phantom supports (e.g., SOL, USDC, Raydium).
3. See your recent activity. You can see all of your recent transactions and whether they succeeded or failed.

How to use Phantom?

To use Phantom, you need to:

1. Set up the wallet
2. Get some SOL
3. Explore Solana’s ecosystem

1. Set up the wallet

To set up Phantom:

1. Download Phantom on web and mobile.
2. Create a new wallet and set a password.
3. Write down your secret recovery phrase and never share it with anyone.

2. Get some SOL

Now that you have a wallet set up, you should deposit some tokens. Here’s how you can get some SOL (Solana’s native token):

1. Use your credit card: Tap “Buy with Moonpay” and follow the steps to verify your identity and buy some SOL using your credit card.
2. Transfer SOL from elsewhere: Buy SOL on exchanges (e.g., Coinbase, Gemini, FTX) and then transfer it to your Phantom wallet by copying and pasting its public address.

3. Explore Solana’s NFT and DeFi ecosystem

Solana has a thriving NFT and DeFi ecosystem. You can explore by connecting your wallet to:

1. Solana NFT marketplaces like Magic Eden 
2. Solana DeFi protocols like Orca (decentralized exchange), Solend (lending platform), and Mango (DyDx)
